An Unhurried Childhood

Sometimes the most meaningful things begin quietly.

Several years ago, I decided to make a few simple dress-up pieces for my grandchildren — just a handful of items to spark their imaginations.
My hope was simple:  that they might feel the joy of slipping into a character, a story, or a world entirely their own.

What began as two little crowns and capes quickly grew into something more.
I found a beautiful pattern for fairy and dragon wings (Twig & Tale — used with permission), created a sparkly wand, added a wolf hood and tail… and with each piece, my excitement grew.

I could hardly wait to have them open this treasure — to watch them step into a world lit by their own creativity!

And in that simple moment, An Unhurried Childhood was born.

This space is an invitation — to slow down, to notice, to nurture the kind of rich imaginative play that shapes a child from the inside out.

I hope to inspire imagination in many children, and in turn, support the precious season of life when make-believe becomes a pathway to growth, confidence, and wonder.
